What is this about?
This kind of error is encountered on only one place in the portal: "The Update Profile - Upload Image."
The error is encountered when you have updated your profile picture for the first time, changing the default avatar to a real image. After this is done,
you will not be able to change your profile picture again until the school administrator grants you the priviledge to do so.
We have recieved so many compaints that the changing of picture should be made open to all but these were the reasons why had to do it that way:
1. Dexterity:
If Tera Portal Service allows the change of picture in this Portal, some users who are fan of Pictures will put it up as a habbit of changing Picture
every minute, thereby loosing concentration of the administrator.
2. Security:
Some users might want to use this opportunity for cheating. Let us sight an Example. Lets have 2 Users called a Machinery "(Impersonator)" and a "User". A case we studied showed that a User employed a Machinery to help write his exam with the Users detail. The Machinery off course used his real
photo when printing his photocard and then eventually came for the exam. The Machinery was screened and then offered admission. As soon as this was done, he quickly changed the
display picture back to that of the User's and there was a confusion because the User's face was not identified as those that came for the Entrance exam but
this could not be argued since the profile now carried his details and passport. We could figure this out because the original photo card was kept in the school premises. The Story we just told you above was the major reason picture change was stopped and can only be granted by the admin.
3. Fun Fare:
This is a portal and not a social media where you can use a blank or text image as your display picture. The changing of picture was restricted to once in 2 years.
Some users might want to use their Friends photo for a display picture thereby making identification difficult when the need arises.
Some other users might not want to make use of their picture because of their hidden agenda and thereby decieving other with a fake photo.
4. Confidence:
Since all the pictures are screened, your profile can be exported to any database without the fear that the picture on your account might not be you. This will streghten the
confidence of the admin. Your profile can be requested by different authorities at any time and the passport must correspond to the users details.
How can I change my profile picture?
This question have only 2 answers. The two of them are:
1. Use the Complaint box:
1. Login to your Respective Portal
2. Open the "Help Desk" group menu and then click on "Tapp the admin"
At this stage, you should be seeing a form that looks like the one found at the right of this help.
3. At the Subject Text input, type in "New passport Request" 4. At the Message text area input, you are free to type in your letter to the admin letting him know why you want to change your profile picture.
This message must be short and brief.
5. Send the message and wait for a reply mail. If you do not get the reply mail, you will gget a notofication when you log in. If none of this occur, then you will see that your profile picture will not
display but an avatar image correspondong to your sex.
2. Meet the admin Personally:
If the method above dosent work, then we will advice you to meet the school admnin personally letting him know your intentions.
